Paternity Suit Recognition/Contestation
Whether a child was born in or out of wedlock, he or she has the same rights. A father whose paternity has not been acknowledged at birth can establish his filiation with the child. He will then be allowed to exercise his parental authority, claim custody or access rights to the child as well as provide for the child’s needs. He will also be able to request a change in the child’s name. Likewise, a mother who could not register the name of the father on the child’s act of birth can ask for the paternity to be confirmed and, if need be, obtain financial aid from the father to provide for the child’s needs. Whether or not your child has been born yet, our competent professionals will enable you to make informed decisions as to the best interests of your child.
